The
Ivy League's connection to the Olympic Games is both wide and deep.
This year alone there will be more than 50 athletes who attended
Ivy institutions competing in Athens and the League's goal is to
provide updates on their performances as well as give our readers
the most extensive collection of Ivy League Olympic history ever
presented. This website has every performer and performance we have
been able to uncover. The success rate of the Ivies has been phenomenal
as the League has produced almost 800 Olympians with a remarkable
one-in-six capturing Gold!
This site was created by the Ivy League Office under the direction
of Eddy Lentz and Brett Hoover, who jointly oversaw the all-time
performers database. Jay Bavishi was responsible for research and
produced the event and school introductions while Tyson Hubbard,
Bruce Self, John Eschenbach and Ben Samara aided the research efforts.
The official posters were made available by the International Olympic
Committee. The image of the Acropolis was courtesy of the collection
of Kevin T. Glowacki and Nancy L. Klein.
